Research

Dr. Zhang's research focuses on the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, with a particular interest in investigating the determinants, risk factors, and intervention strategies for cardiovascular disease prevention and control at the population level. Her recent work has focused on evaluating the impact of exposures to cardiovascular risk factors during young adulthood on the risks of cardiovascular diseases in later life. Dr. Zhang is also interested in cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac death, particularly in identifying ways to improve atrial fibrillation diagnosis, prevention, and treatment in high-risk patients.
